What are Pregnancy Related Pains?
Aches and pains throughout the body – most commonly the lumbar and pelvic region – can be one of the not so enjoyable side effects of pregnancy. The altered postures, hormones that relax ligaments, extra fluid, and the growing baby itself, contribute to a range of disorders that can develop during pregnancy – such as;
- Back Pain
- Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD)
- Hip Pain
- Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP)
- Sacroiliac Pain + Dysfunction
- Neck + Thoracic Spine Pain
- Sciatic Pain
- Carpal Tunnel
- Rib Pain
Seeking treatment by a Physiotherapist early – when the pain first appears – can help keep pain to a minimum and reduce long term discomfort over the remainder of your pregnancy. Our Physiotherapists combine a hands-on approach to relieve pain through massage and manual therapy (gentle joint mobilisation), with education in how to best manage your daily activities safely and with the least amount of pain and strain on your changing body.
Our Manly Physiotherapy Clinic is located in North Head Sanctuary with an abundance of easy free parking. Our treatment room is very private, caters to only one client at a time, and is fitted with HICAPS for instant health fund rebates. Contact us for an appointment or more information!
